OneThird, an agritech company specializing in non-destructive quality assessment of fresh produce, has integrated its quality assessment data directly into the Quality Management System (QMS) of Normec QC One, a quality control software company. The integration eliminates manual data entry and gives growers, distributors, and retailers instant access to actionable quality insights within their existing workflow. The Greenery, one of the Netherlands' leading fresh produce cooperatives, is among the first users applying the integrated solution in daily quality control operations.
Until now, users of both systems had to manually transfer OneThird quality assessment results into Normec QC One. With the new integration, scan results including brix levels for strawberries and blueberries, shelf-life predictions, and sizing and defect analysis flow directly and automatically into the Normec QC One system, resulting in a faster, more reliable, and more efficient quality control process across the supply chain.
"We are constantly looking for ways to make quality assessment smarter and more efficient for our customers. By connecting OneThird directly to Normec QC One, we remove a manual step that costs time and introduces the risk of errors. From now on, the data is directly there where it needs to be. This allows for a smarter allocation of fresh produce as well as more transparency throughout the supply chain," says Marco Snikkers, Head of Commercial & Product Strategy at OneThird,“For OneThird customers using their own QMS software system, OneThird has also standard APIs available to connect to those systems.”
OneThird specializes in non-destructive quality control for soft fruits, using AI-powered scanning technology to measure parameters such as brix levels in strawberries and blueberries. Data generated during scanning is processed securely, with privacy and data integrity built into the platform from the ground up. Ensuring that sensitive quality and supply chain data remains protected. Normec QC One, part of Normec, is a quality control software platform that helps fresh produce businesses digitize and manage their quality workflows, reporting, and follow-up actions. A core component is the Product Specification Manager, which enables users to define and apply product specifications across their operations. Normec QC One integrates seamlessly with a wide range of third-party systems including dataloggers, AI solutions, and ERP platforms, making it a flexible hub for quality data across the supply chain.
"This integration is a great example of how we use technology to make the food sector more future-proof. Our passion for technology comes together with the fresh produce sector in a practical application that simplifies workflows and improves food quality. This project connects seamlessly to innovations like our Product Specification Manager and datalogger integrations, and shows how we continue to build smarter, better-connected solutions," says Stefan Droogendijk, Director of Normec QC One.
The integration is already live and in active use with multiple growers in the Netherlands, among them The Greenery. At The Greenery, the integrated solution supports the organisation’s ongoing focus on quality, reliability, and data-driven improvement. They are already experiencing the benefits of having OneThird's quality data and insights flow automatically into Normec QC One, saving time and reducing the risk of manual input errors.
"Reliable quality information at the right moment helps us make better decisions in our daily operations. With this integration, relevant data is immediately available within our existing systems. That helps us work more efficiently and strengthens our ability to deliver consistent quality to our customers," says Ton de Weerdt, Manager QC at The Greenery, “What is important for us, is that there are several benefits for our growers. Time saving regarding the measurement of Brix values and no product waste!”
Next to Brix Insights, OneThird's technology also measures dry matter in avocados and predicts shelf life for strawberries and blueberries, enabling smarter logistics decisions across the supply chain. OneThird has recently launched visual inspection for berries, detecting visual defects on fruit surfaces and adding a powerful visual quality dimension to existing measurement data. OneThird and Normec QC One are also working on integrating visual inspection and dry matter data into the Normec QC One system, giving customers an even more complete picture of fruit quality in a single workflow.
